Recovery of Destroyed Court Files and Justice for Victims in Nepal
After the 2025 protest in Nepal that turned violent, numerous government offices and courts were burned, resulting in the loss of vital case files. To address this crisis, the Supreme Court of Nepal has introduced the “विशेष परिस्थितिका कारण नष्ट भएका कागजातको प्रमाणीकरण सम्बन्धी निर्देशीका, २०८२,” enabling the recovery of lost court documents and ensuring justice for the victims. The process includes cooperation between lawyers, verification of evidence from both parties, and confidential submissions within 60 days. This initiative reaffirms the judiciary’s commitment to uphold justice and accountability despite severe challenges.
