Copyright Law in Nepal 2026 — Act 2059 Full Guide
"Copyright law in Nepal rests on the Copyright Act 2059 (2002) and Copyright Rules 2061 (2004). Copyright arises automatically on creation; registration at the Nepal Copyright Registrar's Office is voluntary, with a government fee of around NPR 100. Literary and artistic works are protected for the author's life + 50 years; photographs and applied art for 25 years from creation; cinematographic and sound recordings for 50 years from publication. Infringement attracts NPR 10,000–100,000 + up to 6 months at first offence, doubled for repeats."
