"Drug trafficking in Nepal is criminalised under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act 2033 (1976), enforced by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nepal Police. Section 4 prohibits cultivation, production, sale, purchase, storage, possession, transport, import, export and consumption. Penalties under Section 14 are graduated by drug type and quantity — cannabis trafficking runs from 3 months for under 50 g to 10 years for over 10 kg; hard-drug trafficking (heroin, cocaine, opium) runs 5–10 years for under 25 g and 15 years to life for over 100 g, with fines up to NPR 2.5 million."
